Goals and Objectives
Central venous pressure estimation
- Inferior Vena Cava size and collapsibility
- Jugular venous pressure height in long and short axis.
Understand that CVP does not always correlate with volume responsiveness
Demonstrate proper patient positioning for DVT exam
Identify the anatomy of deep veins in the lower extremity
- Sapheno-Femoral junction and associated artery
- Branching of the deep and superficial femoral vein and artery
- Popliteal vein and artery
Demonstrate proper compression technique to assess for thrombosis
