To stream line procedures, we recommend the proceduralist and resident address the following items:
Over the phone discussion with primary team
- Bleeding Risk
- INR, platelets
- Meds: Asprin, Plavix, Heparin, Lovenox, Rivaroxaban, ect.
- Consent
- Can the patient consent? If not, how to get ahold of consenting guardian?
- Can the primary team consent the patient, or at very least inform the patient and/or family that the procedure is happening?
- Would the primary team like to perform the procedure?
- Yes
- What time would they like to do the procedure?
- Can the resident order the procedures supplies from the nurse?
- Page the procedure intern if they would like to shadow the procedure
- No
- Page the procedure intern to perform the procedure
- Proceduralist orders the supplies from the nurse
- Yes
