Competency
This 2 week elective is an introduction to bedside ultrasound. It takes years of deliberate practice to become proficient at POCUS. Following this course you are expected to continue to practice your ultrasound skills on the patients you care for, but DO NOT MAKE MANAGEMENT DECISIONS unless your ultrasound images have been confirmed by a pulmonary, cardiology, or hospitalist attending or fellow that have been trained in bedside US. If you think see a concerning pathology on your US exam, you should expedite formal imagining and/or expedite the appropriate consult.
